A study tour was arranged for the batch of 2018-19, from 19th to 27th December 2018 to Kerala at Thiruvananthapuram and Alleppy.
The purpose of the Study tour was to understand the principles of Ar. Laurie Baker & Traditional Architecture in terms of Architectural spaces, Landscapes, Door and Windows, Architectural details, Facades & Connecting spaces
21st December
LBC Laurie Baker habitat centre & CDS (Centre of Developing Studies).
The purpose of the studying these center was to understand the structural as well as the Architectural details without damaging Natural terrain.
22nd December
Kanthari & Loyola Chapel
The Kanthari was selected for the studying the Sustainable development & The Loyola chapel to study for the religious typology.
23rd December
Padmnabhpuram Palace, Swami Vivekananda Rock Memorial
The Padmanabhapuram palace was selected for the studying the traditional Architecture of the Kerala. While Vivekananda Memorial was selected for studied in terms of the arrangement of the Mandapam.
24th December
Padmanabhaswamy Temple, Kovalam Beach
The Padmanabhaswamy temple was selected for understanding the Dravidian Style of Temple. Kovalam Beach was visited for the understanding the Interface of the Land & Sea.
25th December
Krishnapuram Palace
The palace was selected for the Traditional style along with the Vastupurusha Mandalam Principles.
